A convenient way to pay with your Tangerine Client Card and Credit Card

Just add your Tangerine Client Card and Credit Card to the Wallet app on your Apple® device, and use Apple Pay pretty much everywhere you love to shop. Look for the Apple Pay or contactless logo.

It's simple

When it’s time to pay, hold your iPhone® near the contactless terminal and confirm your identity. When you hear the beep, your transaction is complete.

With your Apple Watch®, double-click the side button and hold the face to the terminal.

It's secure

When you use Apple Pay, your Card number is never shared with the merchant or saved on your device. Your Tangerine Client Card and Credit Card purchases through Apple Pay are protected against unauthorized transactions as outlined in your Tangerine Client Card Cardholder Agreement or Tangerine Credit Card Cardholder Agreement.

Eligible Apple devices

Apple Pay works on iPhone models with Face ID or Touch ID (except for iPhone 5s), iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad, and iPad mini models with Face ID or Touch ID, Mac models with Touch ID, and Apple Watch Series 1 and 2 and later.

Add your Tangerine Client Card and Credit Card

For a compatible iPhone:

  1. Open the Wallet app.
  2. Tap the plus sign in the upper right corner.
  3. Follow the prompts.

For Apple Watch

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap "Wallet & Apple Pay” and select "Add a credit or debit card”.
  3. Follow the prompts.

Before you get started, you'll just want to make sure you're using the most current version of the Tangerine Mobile Banking app.

What is Apple Pay and how can I use it?

Apple Pay is a convenient way to make contactless purchases using your eligible Apple device. You can use your Tangerine Client Card or Credit Card with Apple Pay to pay for goods and services at merchants that accept contactless payments. You can also use Apple Pay to make in-app purchases on your eligible iPhone or iPad wherever the Apple Pay icon is located at the online checkout page.

What do I need to use Apple Pay?

Apple Pay is available to Tangerine Chequing and Credit Card Clients who have an eligible Apple device running the latest version of iOS. (See above under “Eligible Apple Devices”.)

How do I set up my Tangerine Client Card or Credit Card with Apple Pay?

Apple Pay is ready to use right away after you’ve added your Tangerine Client Card or Credit Card to your Wallet app. To add your Card:

iPhone

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the plus sign in the upper right corner.
  3. Follow the prompts.

Apple Watch

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap "Wallet & Apple Pay" and select "Add Credit or Debit Card".
  3. Follow the prompts.

iPad mini® 3 or later, iPad Air® 2 or later, and iPad Pro®

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap "Wallet & Apple Pay" and select "Add Credit or Debit Card".
  3. Follow the prompts.

As an Authorized User, can I add my Credit Card to Apple Pay?

Yes, follow the instructions to add your Card to the Wallet app.

As a joint Chequing Account holder, can I add my Client Card to Apple Pay?

Yes, follow the instructions to add your Client Card to the Wallet app.

How much does it cost to use Apple Pay?

We don’t charge fees for use of Apple Pay. However, Apple or other third parties, such as wireless companies or data service providers, may charge you fees in connection with the use of your device or Apple Pay.

Any fees or charges associated with the Card, as outlined in your Tangerine Client Card Cardholder Agreement and Tangerine Credit Card Cardholder Agreement, still apply.

Where can I use Apple Pay?

Apple Pay can be used in-store with your iPhone or Apple Watch to make payments at participating merchants that accept contactless-enabled payments. Please look for either of these logos:

How do I select my Tangerine Client Card or Credit Card as my default Card in Apple Pay?

To edit your selected default card:

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap "Wallet & Apple Pay" tap "Default Card" and choose your Tangerine Client Card or Credit Card as your default card.

Apple Watch

  1. Open the Watch app.
  2. Tap "Default Card"and choose your Tangerine Client Card or Credit Card as your default card.

How many cards (debit and/or credit) can I add to each device?

Apple Pay currently allows you to set up a maximum of 8 payment cards on any one eligible device.

How do I delete or suspend my Card for use in Apple Pay?

On your iPhone or iPad, open the “Find my iPhone” app to temporarily suspend or permanently delete your Card from Apple Pay. You can also remove your Card from Apple Pay by selecting Settings/Wallet & Apple Pay/Select Card/Remove Card.

What do I do if my device or physical Card has been lost, compromised or stolen?

On your iPhone or iPad, open the “Find my iPhone” app to temporarily suspend or permanently delete your Card from Apple Pay. You can also remove your Card from Apple Pay by selecting Settings/Wallet & Apple Pay/Select Card/Remove Card.
