How do I designate beneficiaries on my RIF?

To designate a Beneficiary or Successor Holder for your RSP, TFSA or RIF Account:

Step 1

Select your Registered Account

Step 2

In the top right corner, tap the 3 dots

Step 3

Select ‘Manage Beneficiaries’ and follow the prompts.

Note: Before you submit, you can download a copy of your Beneficiary form after e-signing.

For most provinces, you can follow the on-screen steps to complete and e-sign the form directly online or in the app — no need to print or mail anything. If you're located in a province where e-signing isn’t available, you’ll need to: print the completed form, sign (we need to have your original signature on the printed form) and mail it to us.

Don't worry—we’ll will guide you through the steps based on your location.

One thing to mention: You can't designate beneficiaries to these Accounts in the province of Quebec. Designations need to be made through a will under Quebec legislation.
