As a digital bank, we were built to service our Clients online, through our Mobile Banking app, by phone and through Secure Chat. These communication channels remain open as usual.

Remember, that as always, you can take care of almost all your banking needs by logging in right here or through our Mobile Banking app.

All of our savings products, like our Tangerine Savings Account, Guaranteed Investments (GICs), Business Savings Account, Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) and RSP Account are eligible for Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) insurance.

Credit Card increased tap limit of $250

We’ve increased the tap transaction limit at our end from $100 to $250, so if you’re paying by Credit Card in stores where tap is accepted, you can avoid touching the terminal for purchases up to $250. Not all merchants allow tap purchases over $100, so in some cases, you may still need to enter your PIN.

A note for new Clients enrolling

Our number one priority continues to be the health and safety of our Clients and their families. As a result of the current COVID-19 situation, our Cafés are temporarily closed. While Canada Post locations continue to be open and are an option for you, we encourage you to take the appropriate precautions, such as social distancing and complying with any measures Canada Post may have in place at this time. We recommend calling ahead for current information from the outlet you’re planning to visit, such as hours of operation and health safety measures at that location. We’re working on a digital solution so you can complete the steps from your home and are aiming to have something available soon.

Be vigilant in the fight against fraud

During this time of heightened concern, it's important to be especially vigilant against those seeking to commit fraud. Remember:

We don't ask for confidential info by email or text

We'll never send you unsolicited emails or text messages asking for confidential information, such as your PIN, Credit Card Number or Account Numbers.

Watch for suspicious requests for info

Please don't respond to unsolicited emails, text messages, websites, or pop‑up windows that request your personal or banking information.

Be careful what you click

It's best not to open attachments or click hyperlinks in emails or text messages that are sent by someone you don’t know or recognize. And even be cautious with those you recognize.

Helping you with CRA direct deposit and tax info

We now have a quick and easy way for you to send your direct deposit info to the CRA so you can receive eligible payments directly in your Tangerine Chequing or Savings Account. You can get there by logging in and scrolling to the bottom of the ‘Overview’ page. And as you might have heard, the deadline for individuals to file their 2019 income taxes has now been extended to June 1, 2020. You can find more tax information here.

How we’re helping our communities

It’s important to us to make a positive impact on communities across Canada, during good times as well as challenging times. We support a wide range of grassroot community initiatives, and we’re committed to continue helping our local communities, especially when they need us most.

We work with several local charity partners and reached out to those most affected to see what we can do to help. With an immediate need for food resources, we coordinated weekly lunch deliveries to several community agencies, with hundreds delivered so far and counting! And on April 27th, we marked Tangerine’s 23rd birthday with our Gifting it Forward initiative, donating $23,000 each to four of our longstanding partners – FoodShare, Youth Without Shelter, Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter and The 519. The funds will help ensure they can continue to serve some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
