What types of Savings Accounts qualify

Tangerine Savings Accounts, including US$ Savings Accounts, where the new client is the primary account holder are eligible. This promotional rate offer does not apply to Tangerine Business Savings Accounts, Tangerine US$ Business Savings Accounts, Tangerine Children’s Savings Accounts or Tangerine Chequing Accounts.

Is there a maximum deposit amount for this offer

You’ll get your 4.50% rate on up to $1,000,000 (in the currency of the eligible savings account) for each eligible savings account type. So that’s a maximum of $1,000,000 in all of your non-registered savings accounts combined.

When do I start earning the promotional interest

The promotional rate period begins on the date your first eligible non-registered savings account or eligible registered savings account is opened and expires at the end of 153 days (five months) from that date (or once you reach the $1,000,000 balance threshold in the applicable eligible savings account type, whichever occurs sooner). Once the promotional rate ends, our posted rate will apply.

 

What this means is that if during the offer period you first open an eligible non-registered or registered savings account and then later open an eligible non-registered savings account, you will only earn the 4.50% promotional rate on that non-registered savings account for any time remaining in the five-month promotional rate period starting from the date your first registered or non-registered savings account was opened. 

 

Example 1: You open a Tax-Free Savings Account on November 13, 2025 and open a non-registered Savings Account two months later. Your non-registered savings account will only earn the 4.50% promotional rate for a total of three months.

When will I get my interest

2 The Tangerine New Client Two Rate Savings Offer (the "Offer") is available to new Tangerine Clients who: (a) have a Client Number created between [[NCO.SAVINGS.STARTDATE]] and [[NCO.SAVINGS.ENDDATE]], and (b) open an Eligible Savings Account and/or an Applicable Registered Savings Account as the Primary Account Holder within 60 days of the date their Client Number was created. The [[NCO.SAVINGS_RSP.RATE]] Registered Promotional Rate will apply to deposits made to an eligible Client’s Applicable Registered Savings Account(s) for 153 days (5 months) beginning on the date all Qualifying Conditions have been met, to a maximum of $1,000,000 per Applicable Registered Savings Account Type (for deposits to registered Eligible Savings Accounts made through a T2033 form, please see the full Offer Terms and Conditions). The [[NCO.SAVINGS.RATE]] Non-Registered Promotional Rate will apply to deposits made to the Eligible Savings Account(s) for 153 days (5 months) beginning on the date all Qualifying Conditions have been met, to a maximum of $1,000,000 (CAD or USD as applicable) across all Eligible Savings Accounts of the same currency type combined. Both the Registered Promotional Rate and the Non-Registered Promotional Rate are annualized rates, calculated daily and paid monthly. All deposits to TFSAs and RSP Savings Accounts are subject to the limits imposed by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and the Client is fully responsible for ensuring any and all deposits fall within these set CRA limits.
