New Tangerine Clients Score with Steve Nash Assist Program
New offer benefits both new Clients and BrightWayForward partner, Steve Nash Youth Basketball
TORONTO, ON – February 19, 2016
Tangerine and Steve Nash, 7-time NBA All-Star, are proud to announce the new Steve Nash Assist program, which will give new Clients a $50 Bonus, plus Tangerine will also make a $50 donation to Steve Nash Youth Basketball. The new referral program is part of Tangerine’s BrightWayForward program, which works to make a positive difference in the lives of Canadians.
Over the past year, Tangerine has been working with Steve Nash as its BrightWayForward ambassador to help empower more than 500,000 Canadians. Through BrightWayForward, Tangerine works with incredible charitable organizations across the country to support programs that inspire self-esteem, teamwork, and encourage a sense of belonging. One of these partners is Steve Nash Youth Basketball, which empowers youth by giving them the chance to play basketball and develop a love for the game.
“At Tangerine, we’re committed to making a difference in the lives of Canadians and that’s why I’m so pleased to be able to announce this special offer alongside Steve Nash,” said Peter Aceto, President and CEO of Tangerine. “With this referral program, we can thank our new Clients, while also providing needed and meaningful support to one of our very important BrightWayForward partners – it’s a win-win.”
To help kick off this new offer, Tangerine will be making a $25,000 donation to Steve Nash Youth Basketball in addition to its ongoing support for the program. Tangerine has been partnering with Steve Nash Youth Basketball since BrightWayForward was launched in February 2015. In addition to providing support for the grassroots programing across Canada, every week the bank awards a “Tangerine Kid of the Week” to a participant who has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship or leadership skills.
“Support through this new offer and BrightWayForward will help Steve Nash Youth Basketball provide more than 15,000 kids in communities across Canada the chance to play basketball and develop essential life skills through the power of sport,” said Steve Nash, a two-time NBA MVP who also acts as General Manager of Canada’s senior men’s national basketball team. "Over the past year we’ve seen how BrightWayForward and the Tangerine Kid of the Week have really made a positive difference in the lives of not only the kids, but also their families.”
The offer runs from today until March 31, 2016 and is available to new Clients who open an account with a minimum deposit of $100 using the Orange Key “YouthBball.” More information on the Steve Nash Assist program can be found here – tangerine.ca/stevenashassist.
