Steps for activating your new Card:

Step 1

Log in and choose your Tangerine Money-Back World Mastercard® Account under ‘Spending’.

Step 2

For desktop, hit ‘Activate’. For mobile, go to ‘More Actions’ and then hit ‘Activate’.

Step 3

Enter your CVC (the three digits on the back of your card) and your PIN, then hit the ‘Activate’ button.

Add an authorized user

It's easy to add an Authorized User to your Account. Once you’re logged in, click your Credit Card Account and go to ‘Account Details’. Click ‘Manage’ under ‘Authorized Users’.

Remember, as the Primary Cardholder, you’re responsible for paying for the entire balance on your Credit Card Account, including any charges made by Authorized Users.

1 Tangerine Credit Cardholders with a Scene+ membership who link their Credit Card and their Scene+ account to a Shell Go+ Account can get up to 8 cents per litre in instant fuel discounts, Tangerine Money-Back Rewards, and Scene+ rewards value when they purchase fuel with their linked Tangerine Credit Card:

• Instant 3 cents per Litre Discount on Fuel Purchases (All Grades): Receive an instant 3 cents per litre discount on purchases of fuel (all grades) (“Fuel Purchases (All Grades)”) at participating Shell locations when you use any Tangerine Credit Card linked to a Shell Go+ Account, up to a maximum of 1,000 litres per month per Tangerine Credit Card Account. This total limit resets at the start of each new month per Credit Card Account. This discount is subject to the Tangerine Fuel Benefit Terms and Conditions.

• Earn up to 3 cents per Litre in Cash Back Rewards: When you use your Tangerine Credit Card on Fuel Purchases (All Grades), if you have Gas selected as one of your 2% Money-Back categories you will earn 2% cashback on all eligible Net Purchases made at merchants classified as “Service Stations” by the payment network (which are subject to change), excluding fuel purchases that are not for retail or for automobiles. Assumes an average fuel price of at least $1.50/L. Net Purchases means purchases of goods and services charged to your Credit Card Account, less all returns, merchant credits and adjustments. Balance Transfers, Cash Advances, Cash-Like Transactions, interest charges, fees, and insurance premiums posted to your Credit Card Account are not eligible to earn Money-Back Rewards. This benefit is subject to the Tangerine Money-Back Rewards Program Terms and Conditions.

• Scene+ Members earn up to 2 cents per Litre in Scene+ Rewards Value: Scene+ Members earn 1 Scene+ point for each litre in Fuel Purchases (All Grades) when they present or make available their Scene+ account number or Scene+ membership card at the time of purchase. Plus, Scene+ Members who link their Scene+ account to the Shell Go+ app will automatically earn 2 Scene+ points for each litre of V-Power® gasoline or V-Power® diesel purchased (“Premium Fuel Purchases”). Scene+ Rewards value is based on an average redemption value of $10 for every 1000 Scene+ points redeemed on fuel purchases. Actual value may be lower depending on how you choose to redeem your Scene+ points. Note: Highest value of 8 cents per litre assumes a Premium Fuel Purchase (minimum price of $1.50 per litre) made with a Tangerine Credit Card that has Gas selected as a 2% Money-Back Category and is linked to a Shell Go+ Account and who have a Scene+ account also linked to the Shell Go+ account. Actual value will be lower depending on whether or not the Credit Card is linked, selected 2% Money-Back Categories, fuel grade purchased, Scene+ membership status and how you choose to redeem your Scene+ points. 

General Terms:

Applicants must apply for the Card and must consent to a credit check. Accounts must be in Good Standing in order to receive Money-Back Rewards.

Balance Transfers are treated as Cash Advances and interest applies from the transaction date that appears on your monthly statement to the date you repay the balance in full. There is no interest-free grace period on Cash Advances or Balance Transfers.

Annual Interest Rates: The annual interest rate on Purchases is 20.95% and Cash Advances (including Balance Transfers) is 22.95%. Rates are subject to change. If you don't make 2 consecutive monthly Minimum Payments, or at any time thereafter, an interest rate of 25.95% will apply to your Account on Purchases and 27.95% on Cash Advances (including Balance Transfers).

Other Fees and Rates: These fees are charged on the day the transaction occurs (unless otherwise indicated): Cash Advance: $3.50 within Canada, $5 outside of Canada; Balance Transfer: 3% or minimum of $5 (unless reduced or waived) of the amount transferred when it is posted to your Account. Dishonoured Payment: $25; Rush Card: $25; Over-Limit: $25 (maximum one Over-Limit charge per monthly statement period); Past Statement Reprint: $5 per past statement. There is no charge for a reprint of your current monthly statement. Foreign Currency Conversion: When the converted transaction amount gets posted to your Account, we'll add a foreign currency conversion fee of 2.50% to the converted transaction amount.

Rental Car Collision/ Loss Damage Insurance: Damage and theft protection for your car rental when you rent for up to 31 consecutive days and charge the full cost of your rental to your Card.

Mobile Device Insurance: Protection on new cell phones, smartphones or tablets when you charge the full cost to your Card, or when you purchase it through a plan and charge all of your wireless bill payments to your Card. Covers up to $1,000 if your mobile device is lost, stolen, accidentally damaged or experiences mechanical failure.

Purchase Assurance and Extended Warranty: For most new purchases made anywhere in the world using your Tangerine Money-Back World Mastercard®, you may receive a lifetime maximum of up to $60,000 for the following insurance coverage:

• Purchase Assurance to automatically cover loss, theft or damage on most new insured items for 90 days from the date of purchase

• Extended Warranty which may double the period of repair services to a maximum of one year

14 FlexiRoam: Valid from 10/01/2024 and can be redeemed once per calendar year. Eligible Money-Back World Mastercard® cardholders can redeem a FlexiRoam eSIM and a 1GB of global** data roaming, and Mastercard World Elite cardholders can redeem a FlexiRoam eSIM and a 3GB of global** data roaming plan at no additional cost by using your eligible Mastercard payment card (the "Program Benefit"). Eligible cardholders will need to register by creating a FlexiRoam account. To determine eligibility, enter your full 16-digit Mastercard card number when prompted in the FlexiRoam Mobile Application or on the FlexiRoam website. Upon verification of your eligibility, you must complete the full enrollment process to utilize the Program Benefit.
