How do I change my address in your files?

To change your mailing address online, follow these easy instructions:

  1. Log into your Tangerine account.
  2. Under ‘My info and options’, select ‘General settings’.
  3. Click Edit beside your General information.
  4. Make your changes and click Submit.

How do I correct misspelled names? How do I change my information to my married name?

To update or correct this information on your account, call one of our Associates at 1-888-464-3232 or 416-756-2424.

To change or hyphenate your name, you'll need to mail or fax a copy of your Marriage or Name Change Certificate, or Record of Marriage with a pre-printed license number to:

Make sure you include your Client Number on all documents that you send in. Items we cannot accept as ID or documentation include:

  • Tax labels
  • Marriage certificates missing notary seal and license number
  • Divorce orders only showing married name
  • Health card
  • Phone or utility bill
  • Expired driver’s license
  • Social insurance card

How often will I receive a statement?

Active Mutual Fund Accounts will get paper statements monthly. Active Savings Accounts will get paper statements quarterly.

You can choose monthly electronic statements (eStatements) for both your savings and mutual funds to keep it simple! No waiting for the mail, no clutter, no hassles and you'll save a few trees too. To set up eStatements:

  1. Log into your Tangerine Account.
  2. Under ‘My info and options’, select ‘General settings’.
  3. Edit your Statement preferences.
  4. Choose Electronic.
  5. Click Update.

How do I provide a Power of Attorney to Tangerine?

You can provide Tangerine with a Power of Attorney that was prepared for you by sources including a legal representative. To obtain information about the documentation that we require to process your Power of Attorney, please contact one of our Associates at 1-888-826-4374. Our Associates will explain the information Tangerine needs to operate an account under a Power of Attorney, including the fact that we require either an original Power of Attorney or a certified true copy of the Power of Attorney, and that we need to verify the identity of the person being made your Power of Attorney.

Remember that Powers of Attorney are important documents and that it is always a good idea to seek legal advice before executing one. To find out more about Powers of Attorney, visit the government of Canada’s website at http://www.seniors.gc.ca/eng/working/fptf/attorney.shtml.

Once received, Tangerine will review the completed Power of Attorney and may contact you or your Attorney if further information is required. Generally speaking, Tangerine processes Powers of Attorney within thirty (30) calendar days, unless special circumstances apply or additional review is required.

Concerns or complaints about Tangerine’s processing or handling of Powers of Attorney may be forwarded to us through our complaints handling process.
