How can I transfer my RSPs to Tangerine?

RSP funds can be transferred between financial institutions. If you have a Tangerine RSP Account, here's how to transfer RSP funds:

Step 1

Select your RSP Account

Step 2

Tap the 3 dots in the top corner

Step 3

Select 'Transfer RSP' and follow the prompts.

Make sure you have:

  • The external account number and plan number of the account you want to transfer from.
  • The other financial institution's address.

 

If you don't have an Account with us, you'll need to open one. Once your Account is opened, you can follow the above steps.

To open a new Tangerine RSP Savings Account:

Step 1

Tap 'Accounts'.

Step 2

Scroll down to 'Explore Products' and tap 'Savings'.

Step 3

Select RSP Savings Account from the list.

The transfer process can take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks, from the time it's initiated and sent to the other financial institution to the time the funds are received. You'll start earning interest from the day the transfer request is submitted.

Log in, if you haven’t already.

Step 2

Select the RSP Account you’d like to transfer the funds to.

Step 3

Click the ‘Transfer RSP’ button.

Step 4

Follow the steps, and don’t forget to click ‘Submit’.

Open a new Tangerine RSP Account.

Step 2

At the end of the online steps, you'll be asked how you'd like to fund your Account. You can indicate there that you'll be transferring funds from another financial institution.
