Can a cheque be returned after it’s deposited?

 

Yes, a cheque being cleared doesn’t guarantee that the cheque won’t be returned. This means that, even if a cheque has been processed and the funds became available, it’s still possible for the cheque to be returned.

If a cheque you’ve deposited is returned, we may reverse the deposit in your Account – even if the reversal creates a negative balance. You’d then be responsible for the reversed amount and any charges incurred.
