Tangerine Announces Top 20 Finalists in #Tangerine20 Contest
Canadians to vote for favourite initiatives vying for five cash prizes, including one grand prize of $20,000
TORONTO, July 6, 2017
Tangerine is thrilled to announce the top 20 community organizations that were selected as finalists in the #Tangerine20 contest for a chance to win one of five cash prizes, including a grand prize of $20,000.
Tangerine launched the #Tangerine20 contest in celebration of the bank’s 20th year in Canada with the purpose of giving back to communities across the country by helping local organizations reach their goals a little faster. From May 23 to June 16, Canadians nominated initiatives in their communities for a chance to win a #Tangerine20 prize. To select the top 20 finalists, over 380 nominations were reviewed by Tangerine and its #BrightWayForward Council, a group of employees from across the bank who are passionate about community giving and act as internal ambassadors for Tangerine’s community involvement initiatives.
These 20 community organizations, spanning coast-to-coast, have been working hard to save up for their goals in an effort to make a positive difference in their communities. From community restoration projects to ongoing programming support, the top 20 finalists demonstrate the ability to have a lasting impact for years to come.
It’s now Canada’s turn to help determine the five winners! Between July 6 and July 26, 2017, Canadians are invited to go to tangerine.ca/tangerine20 to learn more about the nominees and vote for their favourite community initiative. Every vote counts, and Canadians can submit one vote per day until July 26.
The five winning initiatives will be announced on August 9, 2017 live on Tangerine’s Facebook page. Prizes include a grand prize of $20,000, one $10,000 prize, two $5,000 prizes and one $2,000 prize.
