If I choose to activate my Account at a Canada Post outlet, can I go to any location?


Almost all Canada Post outlets can verify your identification, but there are some outlets that can’t. When you enroll, we’ll provide you with the locations of the outlets that are closest to your address, along with a number that you’ll need to take with you. You can go to a different Canada Post location. However if you do choose to go to a different location, it’s a good idea to call ahead to make sure they can process this number to verify your ID.

How can I change the Account activation method I selected while enrolling for my Account?  


If you change your mind and want to choose a different method for activating your Account, simply log in, and you should see a message about activating your Account, which will include a link to change your Account activation method.

How do I make my Tangerine Account joint?


If you and the other person that you want to make your Account joint with are already Tangerine Clients, complete the following steps:

  • Log in, if you aren't already logged in.

  • Click the Account you want to make joint. Click the 'Account Details' tab, and under ‘Account Holder’, click 'Add'.

  • Follow the instructions to make the Account joint.

  • If you’re not already a Tangerine Client, start by enrolling for a Tangerine Account just for yourself. Then, once your Account is fully set up and ready to use, you can add another Tangerine Client as a joint Account holder, provided that they already have an Account of their own that is fully set up and ready to transact. If the person you'd like to add is not yet a Tangerine Client, please ask them to enroll for their own Account first, and then you can add them as a joint Account holder after their own Account is set up.

How do I designate a Beneficiary or Successor Holder for my Account(s) (Not valid in Quebec)


To designate a Beneficiary or Successor Holder for your registered Savings Account, go to the Account Details page for the Account, and click 'Beneficiaries' under your balance information. Follow the on-screen instructions to fill out the form, print it and mail it to Tangerine. For your registered Investment Fund Account, click your name near the top of your screen and go to your Profile and Settings. Click 'Forms' and you'll be able to find the applicable Beneficiary Form. Follow the on-screen instructions to fill out the form, print it, and mail it to Tangerine.
