To help you get the most out of your Account, we’ve put together this handy page.

Your Client Card is on its way

You can expect your Client Card to arrive within a week. For security, we’ll send your Card PIN separately, and you should get it a few days after you receive your Card.

How to activate your new Client Card?

Log in and click on your Chequing Account. Click the 'Manage Card' button (if you’re on the Mobile Banking app, you may need to tap 'More Actions' first). From there, click on the 'Activate Card' button and follow the prompts.

On the app, log in, hit ‘More’ then ‘Automatic Transfer’ OR at tangerine.ca, scroll down to Money Management Tools and hit ‘Start ASP’ to get set up.

Change the PIN on your Client Card?

To change your Client Card PIN:

If you remember your current Client Card PIN, go to a Scotiabank ABM and follow these steps on the machine:
1. Insert your Client Card and enter your current Client Card PIN
2. Select your language
3. Go to 'Settings' near the top right of the screen
4. Select the ‘Change PIN’ option and follow the prompts

If you don’t remember your current Client Card PIN:
1. Call our automated phone service at 1-888-826-4374
2. When you reach the main menu, select ‘PINs or Secret Questions’
3. Select ‘Change Your Client Card PIN’ and you’ll be given a temporary PIN
4. Within two hours, you’ll need to go to a Scotiabank ABM to reset your PIN using the temporary PIN.

Please note: Your temporary PIN is only valid for a 2 hour window.

How do I pay a bill?

There are different options available for bill payments, based on your needs.

Payments made online or through our Mobile Banking app
You can make bill payments through your Chequing Account either online or on our Mobile Banking app.

To make an online or Mobile Banking app bill payment:
1. Log in and hit ‘Pay Bills’ (on your mobile device hit the '+' sign first, then 'Pay Bills').
2. Scroll to the bill payee you'd like to pay, enter the amount and hit 'Next'.
3. Confirm your bill payment details, and hit 'Pay'.

Can't find your bill payee? Select 'Add a Bill' and follow the prompts from there.

Payments made through your Client Card with Visa* Debit
When making a bill payment, enter your Client Card information as your payment details, and you'll be paying directly with money from your Chequing Account.

Recurring payments made through Pre-Authorized Payments
With pre-authorized payments, you give your permission to the merchant or payee to take the payments directly from your Chequing Account. For details on how to set up a pre-authorized payment, click here.

Here's a tip: Pay your bill 2-3 business days before your due date to ensure that your bill is paid on time. Remember that different payees have different bill processing times.

Link an external bank account to your Tangerine Account?

To link an external account to your personal Tangerine Account(s):

• Step 1
Log in, if you aren't already logged in, and then click the 'External' tab on your 'Overview' screen and select 'Link external account' to add a new link.

If this isn't the first external account you're linking, then use the 'Manage' button you'll see under the 'External' tab to either delete your existing external account or keep it and also add a new one.

• Step 2
Hit the 'Add Account' and follow the prompts from there

To confirm your external account:

• Step 3
Once you've completed the steps above, we'll put 2 deposits of less than $1 in your external account. When you see those deposits in your account, log back in, click the 'External Accounts' tab under 'Profile & Settings' and hit 'Confirm' on the account you're linking. Enter the two deposit amounts you see in your external account and hit 'Verify'. Once confirmed, you’re all set!

Set up Interac® e-Transfer Autodeposit?

You can register your email and/or mobile number for Interac e-Transfer® Autodeposit.When you register, transfers that are sent to you get automatically deposited into your Account without the need to answer a Security Question.

You can register a total of up to 5 of your email addresses and/or mobile numbers for Interac e-Transfer Autodeposit. Each email address and each mobile number can only have one Account assigned to it.

Here's how you can register:

1. Log in and click 'Interac e-Transfer' in the top right corner
2. Click the 3 dots next to 'Interac e-Transfer'
3. Click 'Interac e-Transfer Settings' and then ‘Interac e-Transfer Autodeposit’
Follow the prompts from there.

You can make edits to your email and/or mobile number in the same place.
